How do I create a persistent link to use in Moodle?

A permanent link can also be known as a stable link, durable link, persistent link, permalink or a PURL. It provides a direct link to a resource such as a journal article, ebook or a print book. URL's that appear in the address bar of your browser may not work over time, so it is best practice to use a permanent link.

To copy a permanent link from EOLAS:

Search for an item using EOLAS and click on it's title to open the more detailed view.
Click on the permalink icon (paper clip) to the right of the page.
Copy the permalink which appears above the title into Moodle or e-mail or a word document etc.
