I need help with Multi Factor Authentication

Answer

Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) adds a critical second layer of security to user sign-ins and transactions. It works by requiring two or more verification methods for your account (usually password and mobile phone). It is used for all GMIT staff and students in order to protect user accounts and provide increased security for all.

If your phone is broken and you are unable to access Moodle, your college email or any GMIT online services you can email IThelpdesk@gmit.ie or telephone 091742799 between 09.00 and 17.00 a member of the IT helpdesk should be online to help you.

If you are having problems with MFA (multi factor authentication) please take a photo of your college ID card and email it to IThelpdesk@gmit.ie

If you have changed your phone number you will need to contact the team to clear down the existing MFA and you can set up a new one.

Other IT support issues can be accessed on https://www.gmit.ie/itinfo.
