I have lost a library book. What do I do?

Answer

You are responsible for books you have borrowed from the library. If you have borrowed a book but are unable to find it, we can renew the book to give you time to look for it.

If you are sure it is lost, you will have to replace the book, ask at the library information desk for the replacement cost and make arrangement to pay it OR source a replacement copy, in good condition, that is the same edition or newer, and take it to the library information desk.

Tips:

  • Make sure you check the shelf in the library in case you left the book in the library without returning it at the desk or the self-service unit
  • Check with other students on your course if they have the book if you were studying together

Please contact the library as soon as possible if you have lost any books:
