Why doesn't the link I copied work?
Answer
The library’s default search ‘Search + Find’ is brought to us by EBSCO, a company that also provides us with several databases (Academic Source, SportDiscus and CINAHL to name a few). When you do a search using ‘Search + Find’ you need to login using your ATU email address and password to get full access to the items from your search.
The URLs in the address bar in in ‘Search + Find’ and our other EBSCO databases are not stable. If you copy and paste them or have saved the link to an article from the address bar, they won't work when you go back to them. If you want to generate a link that you can go back to from your results in ‘Search + Find’ or EBSCO, use the EBSCO Permalink tool (it appears under ‘Tools’ to the right of the article or book you want to reference).
Example:
Click on the article/book you want to link to or cite. On the right-hand side of each item, you will see ‘Tools’ – click on permalink and a permanent link to this item appears at the top of the item – this is the link you need to use in your citations/references so you and other readers can get back to the item. In this screenshot I have scribbled out the url/link in the address bar as this is not a stable link and will never work again so do not copy/paste.
