After clicking OK on the error message you should be able to switch the tools in Word to EndNote Online.

1. In Word.
2. Go to the EndNote tab, and select Preferences.
3. Then go to the Applications tab.
4. Select EndNote Online.
5. Click OK.

You should now be able to use the EndNote tab in Word without an error message.

If this does not resolve the issue you need to update your EndNote Cite While Your Write preferences.

• Open Word
• Click on the EndNote tab
• Go to your preferences in the EndNote tab

• Click on the application tab in the pop-up box
• Ensure that this url is showing under your EndNote Online Subscription (please add/replace the url if this is not the url displayed - http://www.myendnoteweb.com:80/ along with your email address and password. 
• Save preferences by clicking OK
